The Profitmaker Farm is a significant and productive 469 acre irrigated farm only 5 miles northwest of Roswell city limits. Roswell, population 50,000 is the Chaves County Seat and the thriving hub city for southeastern New Mexico. The land tenure is 38.88± deeded acres located at the farmstead together with 430.14± New Mexico state lease acres. In association with the farm are 418.76± artesian water rights. The water right priority date is the year 1947. Water quality in this area is excellent and abundant.
This highly improved farm is developed for high yield forage production growing alfalfa, Pounds Plus forage comprised of (barley, wheat and triticale), Millet and Jose Wheat Grass. The irrigation infrastructure is developed around two subsurface artesian wells drilled approximately 550 feet. The static water level is approximately 90 feet. Irrigation well pumps are set at 200 feet. Both wells have all new columns, pumps, electric service and 100 hp electric vertical pump motors. The wells produce 1,200 to 1,500 gpm and can pump into a reservoir or directly to the irrigation sprinkler. Irrigating a 165 acre circle is an eleven tower T and L hydraulic drive center pivot sprinkler. The balance of the farmland is sprinkler irrigated by nine side roll sprinklers. Buried irrigation water lines are reported to be 12" & 15" plastic deep buried pressure lines. Also, on site is a domestic well. Other improvements include a double wide mobile home, small shop and a new hay barn. The farm is within close proximity of affordable Roswell housing and does not necessarily require employer housing.
