Topography of the Ranch is extremely diversified. The southern boundary 5,100 ft. rises from the beautiful Mimbres River Valley, with Mesa Rim Rock and long sweeping hills rising northwest away from the scenic valley.
The northern ranch boundary is mountainous with steep slopes up to 6,300 ft. elevations across Blue Mountains south face. The southwestern boundary takes in a portion of the notable flat top Table Mountain. Adjacent to Table Mountain is the spectacular City of Rocks State Park however within the ranch are rock formations that rivals anything the states rock park presents. The area of the rock land park is private, secluded and truly an amazing landmark. The acres of tranquil boulders are landscaped with magnificent oak trees and natural water holes. Traversing the ranch and draining to the Mimbres River are several pretty little canyons and draws. Each has interesting features and vegetation. Along these drainages are natural water holes and developed earthen water tanks.
This is primarily a grassland ranch interspersed with mesquite, cactus, oak, juniper and cottonwood trees which provide a delightful variety of terrain and vegetation characteristic of the Chihuahuan desert highlands.

The residence is a new territorial residence blending into terrain of the rock park and sited to maximize the great view shed taking in Cooks Peak, Blue Mountain and Table Mesa. Due to the proximity of the Mimbres River and the unique land features of the ranch, Native Americans most recently, the Apaches and the earlier Mimbres Indians took shelter on the ranch. One area of the ranch overlooking the river has a treasure of rock drawings and many rock grinding holes. Table Mountain with its flat top was a refuge where the Apaches are known to have taken high ground and were capable of observing all approaches.
